stereo upgrade
« on: 19 July 2014, 10:29:49 »

Hi guys, im going to put a new stereo in my omega next week. I'm just waiting for my adapter fascia to arrive. I was just wondering if anybody knows how to make my date appear on the omegas dash display as if the original stereo was just switched off? I've seen some stereo upgrades that completely make the date and stereo info section disappear, but I've also seen installs that make the date appear so i know its possible. Also does anybody know which colour wire is the live feed for the steering wheel buttons? I know they will be inactive with the new stereo but it would be nice if they still lit up when the new stereo switches on. Also do I have to swap the red and yellow (constant and ignition) wires over on omegas like some cars. Thanks in advance I know I'm a pain.lol. dan

I forget which wire it is, but you cut the signal wire thats received from the stereo to the MID display...
