Just the switch itself or the complete assembly?

I think he means the 'Soft-Touch' finish on the whole switch assembly  ???

This happened to mine so I split the top section from the circuit board and washed it in warm soapy water (complete with switches)

It gave the unit a smooth finish but I didn't like it so I sourced a new complete unit from a donor car.

You can either source another cleaner one from a breaker? Or other option if you have time buy some 3M stickers (comes in different sizes). Have come across a few window switches that had it done, and doesnt look that bad. You can get them in different colour/shine/texture etc.
Look em up in fleabay theres plenty.  :y

I use a foaming upholstery cleaner and a scrap of towel to get the sticky/greasy residue of :y

A bit of perseverance works wonders... They can be carefully dismantled, but leave the mirror control alone as they don't rebuild very well. The window switches can be dismantled to their constituent parts, cleaned, re greased and re assembled to good effect :y
