rear estate glass
« on: 02 August 2014, 17:24:39 »

Hi all about a year ago i had a new tailgate screen fitted by autoglass, and today i have noticed that the rubber on the driverside is not sitting on the tailgate panal, and if you lift the rubber you can clearly see the glass edge. it also is not fully pressed into the recess/lip on the tailgate, is the screen bonded into the tailgate and the rubber a trim only.
Is this something i can sort or does it require screen to be removed and refitted by a specialist.?

I would get Autoglass back to sort it, and if they start giving it 12 months waranty up blah, blah, ask them how much bad publicity they would like about there products and installation services falling apart just after 12 months.  >:(

If Auto-Glass refuse to repair it FOC threaten them with an insurance claim.

Contact your insurance company and get them to pressurize Auto-Glass..... :y

Rear screen is bonded in, and has a similar frame arrangement to the front screen, ie a frame clipped to the glass that the rubber trim clips into :y
