Britain needs....
« on: 05 August 2014, 01:21:14 »

...... more people like this man, who built a private road bypassing a closed section of the A431 between Bristol and Bath which has been closed since February after a landslide during the winter storms!  ::)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2715976/Hundreds-pay-2-time-use-unlicensed-private-toll-road-built-businessman-fed-waiting-council-open-bypass.html

I hope he makes a profit from his venture and he should get a Knighthood!!  :y :y :y :y :y

Let's see what happens when it rains and that mud track turns into an ice rink.

But otherwise, yes, good luck to the chap. :y

Heard him on Radio2 other day, top stuff. Hope it works out well for him.  :y

Glad to see council "kind of" supporting it, all too often councils would block this on H&S bull.

You see the adverts for parking space in folks driveways or renting out garages   and people pay

I think the council realises they would recieve a barage of criticism for misdirected energy and general project management incompetance if they tried anything against this fella.  Good on him :y

Only thing I can think of which might be an area of concern for those that use it, isn't this considered offroad driving and thus not covered by many insurance policies? :-\
