I've found a couple of adware programmes on my Mum's elderly Dell XP desktop and when I've tried to uninstall them, I get a code box pop up similar to the one newbies have to use to post on here. 

Is it OK to pop the code in to uninstall or will I cause further problems?    Seems a bit strange to me! 

The programmes are Buzzdock and Rightsurf.  TIA!

Don't do it.. don't trust anything something like that asks you to do..

Is there any way of uninstalling these programmes without downloading more stuff on to the computer?

If you're really, really good at removing files by hand, editing the registry by hand etc etc then maybe.. but it's a lot of hours of research and work!
