erratic idle on warm up
« on: 11 August 2014, 22:52:29 »

Hi I have a problem the last few weeks where the car runs perfect when hot but for first 15 minutes or so untill warmed up the idle speed seems to go from normal up to 1500 rpm. Then it may go down to 500rpm for a while then it might go back up again. It would appear that untill the car is running on open loop mode the idle speed will not hold at 500rpm while cold but when hot (closed loop mode) it is perfect ie responds straight away ok to air con on etc. No engine warning lights. I thought it may be the AIT but took it out and tested it so that seems ok. Also idle is smooth when engine hot or cold and no misfire or anything like that. Anyone else had this?
