Burst radiator fan
« on: 13 August 2014, 07:14:05 »

Hi, I hit a deer on the motorway and did a bit of damage to the bumper and offside headlamp. Got those off and discovered the air intake had been pushed into the driver's side radiator fan. Fan blades are cracked and it isn't turning too well. Is it worth trying to glue it back together or does anyone know where I could get a replacement?

I would but I've just joined and I think you need 250 posts before you can put up a wanted ad?

You can carefully pull all the bits back into place with no ill effects, just be sure that the intake is no longer resting against the fan when done :y

Worth bearing in mind that the radiator/gearbox cooler/aircon condenser all need moving out of the way to remove/refit the front fans...

The bottom pegs sit on the lower crossmember and the top pegs fit in the back of the slam panel.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try pulling the bits out and run some power through the motor. Just in case I do need to get a new one, are the nearside and offside different?
