Mine are OK. Still got 4mm on them.  :y

Sounds right for an Orlando  :y

You use your feet for power right? Like the Flintstones? :)
Yep. Still get more than an omega four pot. ;D

You must be nice and thin, to get a good power to weight ratio. Unlike most of a fat bastids here  ;D
Just noticed that I put 4mm, which has nothing to do with springs. I noticed who had started the thread and just assumed it was about tyres.  ;D

No ya Fleckin didn't. You know nothing your a Daewoo owner ;D

I've replaced front and rears on mine during my ownership and I assume that the broken ones were the originals.  :)

I voted 8 years plus. Car was two years old when we got it and ten years later it was still on all four original intact springs

It used to regular carry four . Also heavily loaded and used for towing.

Does breaking by melting them count?

I've yet to break an Omega front one, although I had swapped them for other reasons. Tunnie has TBE's original fronts, Bullet's fronts were in the garage.

TBE came with a broken rear SL spring at 7yrs. The Bullet snapped its original rear at approx. 8yrs.

Ok that seams fairly conclusive.

But, being fair to Tunnie for some reason I don't know why, is there any reason to believe Vauxhall spring quality has changed over the years?

But how many have bought springs from dealer? Not factory fit...

Across board many have reported poor life across GM hardware, if we were in 2006, yes I would buy them, along with exhausts  :y

My genuine GM replacement exhaust lasted about 130k, same as original factory one.
Rear self leveling shocks the same, front shocks changed for genuine at 155k, don't expect the replacements to be any different...
Springs all 267k original.

So don't buy the substandard post foctory genuine parts nonsense for a second... especially not for significant components... exhausts, bushes and shocks are arguably consumables anyway :-\

I've voted 8 yrs+,although in truth I don't really know. However none of the paperwork I got with the car shows springs to have been replaced at any time,so if originals that would be 14yrs and counting.Car has a tow bar fitted but I've never used it,can't say what it used to pull in previous owners hands.

funny you should post this as the rear springs on the Vectra needed replacing as both sides had snapped...now the car was mot'ed when I brought it a year ago (worst thing I ever did) and that was not picked up so I am guessing it has happened since I have owned it...or the last MOT was a count the wheels and let it go again??

Have replaced a couple of springs on a Vectra C, alot less substantial than the Plod ones on the Omega.

Only found during a pad change, and not obvious on a passing inspection as snapped at the first coil and therefore obscured by the wheel during an MoT. Should add that was front springs :y

Mk3 Mundeos are prone to front spring failure, which, due to their shite design, drop and shred the tyres ::) not an issue that Omega or Vectra suffer from...

Exhausts have clearly changed and dipped in build. As far back as 2008. No longer clamshell. No chrome tipped tail pipe, back box is a complete and utter different shape.  Comapred to factory one taken off.  :)

They are not the same as per factory build.

But clearly you love to put people down an agressive & personal manner, calling people idiots and saying what someone is trying to say as non sense.
