Trade Club / Forum Supporting Dealer
« on: 18 August 2014, 20:27:38 »

It would seem that Drive Vauxhall are no longer supporting this (or any other) forum.   :(

So 1. Could the Admins please remove the advice under Recommended Suppliers to avoid anyone else wasting their/ Andy's time.   :y

And 2. Do we know of any other OOF friendly dealerships who would rather sell more for less than less for more (and can supply nationally)?  Not unreasonable for Vauxhall to show a little gratitude to us "enthusiasts" for pissing hundreds of pounds of our own money up the wall maintaining their shoddily made cars and keeping their brand identity on the roads!  ;)

Somewhat hacked off today at getting arse ripped by a dealer for the first time in.... well, ever really... because I need genuine GM cam cover gaskets and can't source elsewhere!  >:(

And don't even get me started on £83+ VAT for TC 20ltr oil  >:( >:( >:(

DISCLAIMER
I know the forum says use genuine and i'm not recommending use of anything else. . . . .

but at their prices and when mine let go i'm more than willing to try a / various pattern ones as the job's a piece of p*ss and the plenum n inlets seem to always be off  ::)

ABS is for the Senator/Monza/Carlton massive innit blud. They don't like us "modern" types, they tolerate us to get more membership money  ;)

Besides after all the years OOF has been loyally promoting Vx ownership it should be able to stand on it's own two feet  :)

North Herts myself, but I'm guessing everyone could use the benefits?

Trade Club oil is showing as £40.50 + vat for 20 litres.

I do agree that it is misleading still having Andy's name in the recommended suppliers.  :y

No chance of OOF getting trade status, as suggest best method is joining ABS. That will get you trade prices  :y

What have ABS got that we don't I wonder? Other than a "magazine" full of adverts and the type of self satisfied "journalism" that makes your toes curl? .... And a very gay name   :P   Said the former ABS member *ahem*

Nope, ABS welcomes Omega drivers. In fact, the Omega is their feature car this year ;)

What gains would there be for OOF getting VBOA membership (and thus, eventually, TC status)? Its just easier for out members who wish to get TC access via other clubs :y.  Getting VBOA membership would involve taking steps which go beyond some of our founding principles.

Not sure about other dealerships but I know Evans Halshaw are honouring trade club prices if you produce the card / number even though they pulled out last year  :y

Trying to think what genuine VX parts I`ve actually needed to buy to keep keep my 2.2 on the road over the last 4 years.of ownership

8 oil filters + oil / 2 Air filters / 4 X plugs / cam position sensor / set of front pads / cam cover gasket/ throttle body gasket/ fuel filter & gulp the cam belt water pump needs doing this year too. A bit late really according to the history, 6 years & 16k miles since the last one in 2008 . Commuting on the Fazer & ped.  I spend more time looking at her then actually driving her.

Indeed, the best £25 per year you can ever spend if you do even just a few jobs on your Omega!! :y :y :y

I have found that the ABS card also opens the door to full Vx trade prices, plus a Halfords trade card.  It has saved me £100's of pounds 8) 8) 8) 8) :y :y :y

The only problem is, as I have stated on another thread, all genuine Vx Omega parts have greatly escalated in price due to the last production car coming off the line over 11 years ago.  Still ok though on consumables rather than pure parts. ;)
