Use a quick one,
Can you get the headlights on the 2000registration facelift omega apart?
I would like to clean the plastik lenses inside too.

I didn't try but can the lenses come out from the lights?
Or do I need to get the complete headlight out for it?

It's the projector type light cluster.

The reflectors seems completly fine and no issues with it, just the lense is milky inside.
Orderd the cleaning kit for the outside but from closer look, it's inside a bit milky too.

And maybe another question,
I seen new hid, led or whatever they are, headlights for nearly all cars on ebay,
Are there some out for the omegas too?

There a headlight adjuster repair guide in maintenance that shows how to dismantle them.

Yes you can dismantle them, for cleaning or whatever reason...

You will need to completely strip the headlights out the car, then use your other halfs or your own hairdrier and blast it on hot into the holes where you access the bulbs for replacement.... Keep teasing the lenses from the housings and eventually they do come apart quite easily...

The milky appearence is possibly the lense on the outside itself discolouring and all it needs is buffing with T-Cut or a good cutting compound to bring the lacquer back to shiney... Its quite a common problem with most plastic lenses...



You can't get a direct replacement HID bulb for the Omega headlights.... BUT.... The H7r HID bulbs fit with a bit of patience from yourself and some persuation they stay with the clip that is used to hold the original bulb in place... Iv converted mine to HID and I must say that they have improved the way the road lights up.... compared to the original and very expensive bulbs...

I stripped three yesterday. 10 minutes in the over at 100 degrees a small flat screwdriver to pry with oh and a pair of oven gloves unless you like burning hands.

Then just gently lift the clips and pry with the screwdriver and you can see it move, gently move around the light doing each clip until there all free and then you can just pull it off and let it cool.

Last time I put a pair of plastic headlights in the oven I think I left them to cook for a bit too long as they came out not looking anything like headlights, or anything edible LOL
