.....

Thinking it might be easier to spoof the reading the level unit wants.

Carl,

Surely it'd be easier to replace the faulty bit.  :-\
Easier, maybe, But at £100.. Cheaper to spoof it.

Thinking as it's the front, then it shouldn't have as much impact on the aim level.

At the moe, the aim is very short so not keep on high speed driving at night..

Carl,
Don't think anyone would charge that for a good second hand unit on here.

Carl,
Replace with a known good 2nd hand one. Better than bodging it, and disabling the system is a tad irresponsible, no matter how low you think you've set them, IMHO.

They're hardly the most robust part, and only being fitted to Elites means they're not particularly common. But I do agree that making the system work properly is a fix rather than a lashup just to turn the warning off.

Yup, 2.2 Sport has halogen lights. Only has headlight washers to keep the Prodrive production line happy :y

Just double checked the brochure, all facelift MV6s had xenons :y

Factory fitted to:
MFL MV6 (Retail and Plod)
MFL Elite (Retail and Plod)
FL MV6 (Retail and plod), CDX and Elite

So plenty around normally. Front and rear sensor are the same, just need to swap over brackets. Rears rarely seem to cause any issue.

Unless a puddle rips the arm out or the wire breaks... Had both on mine, although perversely, no error message... Fault announced by Tech2...

Altering the suspension geometry and ride height might cause issues as well....

Touch wood it seems to be fine for now, Trurn lights on then the ignition then there's a noise around the engine bay the lights go up slightly then back down with the same message on the screen but once you hit OK it doesn't come back on... Bit like that break light check need to press ok or the break to get rid of the message   :y

Been out in the dark the lights have never been so good on it not dazzling anyone at all now while also still giving enough light to see ahead  :y

Mr Omegaman, stop dicking around and get it on a reader. IIRC, Jimbob is not a million miles away from one of your Sunday afternoon jaunts, though not sure if his can read headlights.

At least then you would know what you need to do :y
