What was that

Massive thud on the patio doors like a baseball had hit it  :o :o :o Looked outside and there was a pigeon walking a bit dazed  :D ;D ;D Then the cat arrived and ran away frpm it scared  ::) I popped it over the fence in the tree , didnt fancy eating it as it looked a bit scruffy  :(

Pigeons often fly in to large windows, when this happens there sometimes the shape of the pigeon on the window.

One theory on  this is that if the window is very clean they see a reflection of the surroundings and think it is real not reflected, and then WHACK !

Embarrassingly I did that in a car showroom many moons ago - wife lived off that in telling friends for ages. Bit painful as well.

A pigeon hit my chest whilst i was on my cbr1000 at 60mph ... that did hurt  :(

Yep Blackbird 1100  :) Took me to Scotland and back 700 miles on many occasions  :y
