SWMBO makes some wicked ones, deep filled and light pastry, must be the brandy in the filling :D :y Not allowed them until the week before Christmas eve, beautiful with some white Stilton. She  will soon start on the cake, feeding it with Brandy for a month or so before the icing. :y :y :y
That sound very tasty combination get the good lady to try shortbread instead of pastry I think you won't be disappointed   :y

I am getting less happy with mince pies, I know it is sweet mince, but they seem to be getting to sweet, even Mr Kipling................. :( :-\ :-\ :(
