Some of this stuff is in my car simply because I have it. Apart from the wheel changing equipment the tools are surplus to other requirements, so it makes sense to have them in the car. I didn't carry them in any of the Capris or other simple cars that I could fix at the side of the road, and have only used them on other cars/problems. The only time the Omega broke-down my AA card was of more use than tools. Carrying things like a spare crank sensor or HBV seems paranoid when they're both recently new. The same applies to drive belts and tensioners; if I had worries about any of them I'd fit new and forget about them.

A first-aid kit is a sensible precaution.

The fire extinguisher is to save the contents of the car rather than the car itself.

Depends where I'm going, eg the land of the cheese eating surrender monkeys, obviously I have to fill every nook and cranny with mindless junk.

To commute, just the usual V6 stuff, plus a blanket and shovel in winter, and flask and cuppa soup on harsh looking days.
I like the big ones  ;D ;D ;D Got a 2ltr here.(NOT THE FOOD FLASK THINGS)Had it years. Been looking for another and cannot find one anywhere... The bigger the better they stay hot for ages.

Be interested to see what people have stuffed away in their cars...  :y ;D

I'll go first...

Here are some of the things inside that I can recall...

One 15" spare steel wheel
1 Liter of 10/40 GM Oil
Handful of Micro Fiber cloths
1KG Fire Extinguisher
Tissues / Bog Roll
2600mAh Power Bank & Cables
Torch
Sat-Nav Disc / CD's
Survival Kits (tools and ration pack food)
Screwdriver with attachments
500ml Water
X2 First Aid Kits
Breakdown triangle
Hi-vis vest
Sunglasses
Boot Lining/tray
(Not sure these count but x2 dash cameras)

You preparing for a war or summat ;D couple of mars bars suffice for me

Not entirely sure why I bought them, Probably passed their use by date by now  :-\ ;D

Generally the following :-

5kg powder extuinguisher,
small trolley jack
toolbox
roof rack bars + rope
spare bulb pack( homemade)
satnav
uk map
phone charger
aircompressor( for tyres)
spare wheel
std jack ( never used)
Jump leads
Water
Oil
Boot liner
Crank sensor
Books ( for M25)
Shovel(foldaway)
Hi-vis
Triangle
Ht leads( only because haven’t put in garage)

If in winter then add the following from the van:-
Snow chains
Gas stove
Food
Sweeties
Sleeping bag

If am in the van then is generally the equivalent of the above plus campbed, more food, clothes, toolboxes, cables, studding, analysers, none of which I can find as generally ends up in a mess

Apart from spare wheel changing tools, a dog crate (usually complete with dog), a dog blanket, two dog leads, a dog coat and various kitchen towels with assorted cloths etc. for cleaning and wiping a dogs arse.
I have an exciting life :(

Presumably you use both leads to tether the do whilst you wipe its arse... or is one of them yours ::)
