Cheap speaker stands
« on: 13 October 2014, 19:53:51 »

Where can I buy them? Looking about 50cm high, silver/stainless effect, speaker is a very lightweight surround speaker.  Everywhere I've looked online seem to want silly prices for something quite tatty looking...

I wish I had known two weeks ago that you needed such a thing TB.

I replaced my JVC surround system with a Panasonic sound bar set up and threw all the equipment, including the speaker stands into the recycling depot!  ::) : ::)

Proper speakers reach the floor so they don't need stands. ;)

But.. I often see old stands in antique / 2nd hand shops. Many are black, but a can of paint will soon sort that out. Will keep an eye out. :y

Rather wouldn't.  They have been sat on the floor for the past 10yrs, I just thought I should get around to getting stands ;D

10 years? Perhaps you should consider putting them on mats rather than stands?

Are they the oval type (two small speakers per unit) that has two screws on the rear off them for bracket mounting?
