Assuming you mean mpg... I'm getting about 27 on average (town driving) and about 42 on the motorway (mines an auto though)

That's amazing, your smashing VX's own figures when they were new!

Mine averages about 19mpg round town and about 30mpg on a run. But I am a bit heavy on the gas pedal :y

Also pretty quick of the lights for such a heavy car :)

nothing wrong with old 2.2...sad I got rid of mine :'(....those that lambast them really should try one as they are not slow at all...alright a 3.2 will leave one standing but trust me the 2.2 can be put on the hurry up...as for MPG figures I would say Ian's figures are about on the money :y

I have 3 sat on my drive, two saloons & an estate all auto's, two with head gasket failure & the other with no forward drive from the gearbox!  One saloon has had the head gasket done twice in my ownership despite being treated like a spoilt lady & only done 68,000! The estate has just chucked it's coolant outa the pram at just over 100,000. I've thrown in the towel & drive a Volvo V70 now but i've been told not to hold my breath with that either! ::) ;D

They suffer from most of the same issues as the V6...

Suspension bushes
Hbvs
Camcover gaskets
Coil packs (less so)
Camshafft sensors rather than Crankshaft
Blocked breathers from crap servicing
Head gasket failure usually at higher mileage (poss related to poor coolant maintenance)

Won't set the world on fire compared to a 3.2, but capable enough  :y
That is why i asked what was on the clock.

The impression i get is even with regular proper coolant changes, When you get near to the 100k window, You are living on borrowed time.

RobG had one go on him last year. Wonder what he had on the clock.  :-\

Maybe the current guarentees on new cars which seem to expire around the 100,000 mile mark mean something!!!

Not when you're doing it twice in the same year it ain't Mike! ;D
as for being a 'Turncoat', I have still got the Omega bug & intend to fix at least one unless (a) I run out of money, (b) I run out of patience, or (c) I run out the gate screaming; whichever comes first! ;D ;)

Runs spot-on! It actually returns substantially more miles per £ than the Omega despite having 5 cylinders, although both the Omega & Volvo turn out the same 140BHP. The system is a Romano RisN, not the best, but not bad either & the Installation has been very well done indeed! :y
