Are they little soldered in motors on the circuit board. if so could they be shagged?

Could be. But both at the same time?

No engine codes, as wondered if crank sensor might affect Rev counter. Although wouldn't affect speedo.

Yeah true.

am I right in thinking theres no speed sensor on the g.box and that it takes speed from one wheel sensor?

Probably worn out calculating all the different data from the numerous different tyre sizes and makes you've stuck on it... finally said .. sod it .. he can work it all out for himself ....
