Hi all. I have a problem. I purchased some bits from a fellow member on here and he's done a runner with the money. Now were not talking hundreds here but I find the principal of matter more upsetting. I'm a member of 2 other car forums. One is restricted access while the other is a open forum. I've purchased parts on both of these from members with good feed back with no issues. It saddens me to think somebody doesn't buy in to the spirit of the site. So what would you do? Do I name and shame them? after all I've got nothing to loose the moneys gone anyway and it might just stop somebody else getting coined. Do I keep pestering them with Pm's not really my style I like to think If somebody sent me one pm I'd ac immediately I read it. Just accept it's buyer beware and not trust anybody. Which I think is sad. I have contacted the admin on here but I doubt there is much they can do. This kind of thing puts a real downer on the forum community as a whole and makes it a unpleasant experience I mean are you going to want to log on to a site where you feel undesirable people frequent?

If I've gone against forum rules with this I do apologise I should of checked first.
Sorry about your problem.  However, this site is founded on undesireable people.  :P ;D
You speak for yourself! >:( ;)

UNDESIRABLE. Spell for yourself as well. ;D
It's the American spelling, yeah that's it.  ::)

Darn American spellings. You can spell words just about any way you like and get away with that one.

if its the fella on the list of disputes,i dont know him but have bought from him without problem.i seem to remember a couple of people got annoyed a bout slow delivery recently but things were resolved in due course.i gather he breaks cars and sells the parts ,and i suspect he gets a bit too busy for his own good on occasions.i suspect your problem will be resolved in the near future.just my opinion. :y

I think lack of communication is the problem.

For once i'm not going to be gobby & suggest you give it a couple more weeks in the hope it comes good. I once listed a load of old dicast on ebay, most of which sold but i got snowed under with the p&p, getting packed items to the P.O. etc.
I sell smaller lots now! 8-)

Used ebay alot buying & selling over the years and find it annoying when peeps sell you something & take an age to send it & don't answer your emails.
Way I see it if you got time to post some things for sale & time to take the money then you should have time to post the items & email buyers regarding any issues its only courtesy & also will get recommended for your dealings or not as in the case of bad selling tactics.
Just my 2 cents :-?

Although I very rarely sell components on here, I will self confess that my daytimes are exremely busy and I rarely have time to get to the post office. As a result I once kept a couple of people waiting too long for something I'd promised to send.

Every intention was there to send it and It was delivered in due course but, when you are waiting for something I know how it feels to want it now!

My only way of dealing this now is only to promise what I can realisitcally deliver.

I think part of the problem (although definately not with all sellers) is that some members try too hard to please, and as a result can't always keep up.

I'm famous for this, I do everything with good intent but, I've had to learn that I can only help so many people in one go!

Example being when I was offering free mobile mechanics. I ended up upsetting a few people because I couldn't get back to them / set dates fast enough etc..

And the lesson learned - don't promise what you can't deliver :y

It's not a ebay issue, it's a forum member from what I can understand.

Yup understand that but its long enough with no emails or anything since he bought it !
So guess his next move is to discuss it with admin privately !
