Ours is quite a narrow street with parking on one side and double yellow lines on the other. This leaves enough room for just one vehicle to pass the parked cars-we have no off street parking-however the street is used as a "rat run".Since we moved here just over a year ago the drivers door mirror has been tapped-but not heavily- once by the arm of a motorcycle rider and once by the arm of a moped rider[I saw both incidents].It has been hit hard enough-presumably by a car/van-to knock it out of place on three other occasions, and a further once hard enough to knock off the body colour mirror casing. This morning when I went out I found it had been hit once again, this time hard enough to break the black plastic bit that frames the mirror and of the coloured mirror casing there was absolutely no sign.Luckily the mirror glass has so far managed to survive intact.I'm now getting fed up of inconsiderate drivers not allowing enough space to avoid hitting the mirror just so they can shave milliseconds off there journey time!Just got to wait now for the happy coincidence of having the cash to spare to get another casing and the time to go get one along with dropping on one in a local scrappy-then I suppose I'll have to paint the thing too!
Our road is different but with, it would seem, the same problem with the rat run......

The Mig is parked on the road, well half path, and I have lost count of how many mirrors we have gone through.............it's the speeders that do it........

Such is the problem I keep a full mirror assembly in stock! in the right colour, though she has a black one on at the moment.......
