My mate's Children in Need Challenge
« on: 06 November 2014, 17:36:12 »

My mate Brian Thompson is going to cast himself away on an uninhabited island in the Firth of Forth for a week in aid of Children in Need.  He's one tough bastard as all he's taking are some bare essentials and a tent!  :y :y :y

More info about Brian and his challenge.  :)

Well I hope he enjoys himself.

I simply don't believe in that useless, crappy CIN though. Should be closed/banned, along with Comic Relief

I was a fan until I found out they pay Terry Wogan £20k to front it - lost all respect for the man after that.

My fundraiser.  . . . .. . .

I will be casting myself away on an island in the South Pacific inhabited only by partially clad females. The only food will be char grilled sirloin steaks. There is no water to drink, only Kronenbourg 1664 wells !   :y

Oh well . . . . I can but dream

Kronenbourg? That's not a dream, it's a nightmare! ::)

Really....?

Funny you should say this...

When there was a charity marathon that ran around the Bolton area, Jimmy Saville used to run in it (star attraction etc....), but there was this one year he didn't run it... It came about that his 'fee' couldn't be met so he declined.... makes you wonder how much these celebrities do actually get paid to front something....

Sorry to say I second that. Not against all charities, only the ones that are frankly big businesses, which masquerade as such. £2.4million out of £33 mill raised went on admin...

Genuinely wish the guy the best of luck, and hope that he does good. There's certain charities, the RBL and Help for Heroes which I am deeply passionate about.

This a shameless bump/plug for my mate's Children in Need Challenge.  :)

Brian has now survived 6 nights living as a castaway on Fidra Island in the Firth of Forth, with just tea, coffee and the odd cupa soup to help with his medication and tonight should be his last.  I bet that he's looking forward to a juicy steak tomorrow night!  :y

Not bad seeing as he's paraplegic he hasn't been able to jump up and run around to keep warm and has seen some pretty wild weather during the week!  ::)

So far he has raised over £2500 for Children in Need and they're now trying for £3000.  :y  If anyone was planning on making a donation tonight perhaps you could donate for Brian and his challenge.  Ta!  :y :y :y
