Like I said, just an observation on my part. I was trying to get to NCSL on Triumph Road, but it doesn't exist apparently.

   I have, I used one yesterday, no need for sat nav, nearly got wiped out by a van coming the other way today, he was playing with his sat nav, clear as day.................

Only 10 yrs behind you mate which explains why i'm turning into Victor Meldrew. It's irrational hatred, i can't justify it, maybe it's because they were invented too late for me, given my occupation & the time i've been doing it it's a bit bloody late now!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a 'This is where you lock your doors and stare straight ahead' list?  If so Notts city center is just behind the Birmingstan inner city ring

City centre is fine, St Anns and Radford are a little iffy but, still not bad compared to many

Notts. & Leeds city centres can be hard work. Rarely go that far in with an artic but this lane leads to that flyover, no HGV's, get it wrong & you go for miles trying to turn round & try again.
   Easy. Dial 118... on works phone & let them guide you in handsfree. Cost to me? Naff all!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8-)

I took the wife down to Nottingham this afternoon to drop her off for a three day conference. When I tried to put in the postcode my sat nav nearly bust a gut. Once there I knew the way back of course but thought I would try the sat nav anyway. At every turn it tried to send me the wrong way! Seems to work ok in most other places, I asked for an address in London and it worked out the route in about five seconds. :-/

Satnav"s are superb but you cant beat extremely clear instructions with a highlighted comment about a certain roundabout that catches people out and you cant go wrong.

Unless you totaly forgot about said highlighted roundabout and end up feeling a complete prat as your now lost...with no satnav and no map.

Well I know where Triumph Road is....

It's the bits around there that it doesn't know. Never mind.

Incidentally, I saw that big tower thingy that was on the news. Doesn't look much yet but it's stll surrounded by a building site.
