Loud bangs from outer space, or fireworks?

Did anyone hear the loud bangs over the weekend?

Aurora project? Fireworks? Multiple asteroid strikes? Lightening? Sonic booms?


I'd post a link but unfortunately the best story appears to be from the Daily Fail (damn it) so I wont, but a quick google should reveal all to those that can be bothered.

Wouldn't the pilot be deaf by now though?  ;D


Sounds like fireworks to me but whatever.

I was surprised how far sounds travel, years ago in Pompey; I regularly used to hear the faint double boom on a still night; presumbably Concorde approaching the uk from the west.

Didn't they close the A1 near Catterick thinking it was a terrorist attack or something?  :-\

That sounds like automatic gun fire to me, if it was Saturday or was it Friday night, then I was at work and it sounded like fireworks to me but the fog was down so hard to tell

i heard it too in leeds...early evening...thought it was fireworks(or gunfire..i live in the rough part lol)
