Available to all for today only.  Halfords Trade holders can usually get this for £109.

The 170pc does lack some parts that are useful for Omegas, such as 18mm spanner, although you'd need a set of normal, non-rachet spanners anyway for those parts that require a bit more abuse (170pc is all rachet spanners).

Personally, I'd go for the 200pc, if you can tolerate the weight of the bloody thing. I couldn't get a price the other day, but the one I bought earlier in the year was £120 trade.  Only downside of the 200pc, weight aside, is there are no trays available to put the contents into a tool chest.

Obviously, if you don't have access to Halfords Trade, the one day offers are far more tempting :y

Just seen, then 200 piece can be had for us mere mortal non-trade fellows for £150, so not too bad.

Indeed, that's its usual "half price" sale, which is most of the year.

I'd still recommend a separate set of spanners, as I can't imagine those ratchet ones like a 4lb club hammer to educate stuck nuts.

ahhh fair enough  :y

So that's the real-terms difference between the 150 and the 200 piece, those spanners?... I see lots of little bits, maybe some tiny sockets I'd never use, even smaller ratchet, and the odd UJ, which I've already got.. Might stick with the 150 piece, in that case...

I've got a 170 piece Halfords tool kit and it's excellent!  :y

I agree with TB on the spanners though as I can't think the ratchets would tolerate too much 'welly' and they are quite chunky which makes them awkward in restricted spaces.  ::)

Great value at £100.  :y :y :y

Yeah, I'd never attack a ratchet spanner with a hammer... My mate did, though. Mind, he also managed to break a commercial vehicle torque wrench working on an Omega. He could break an anvil, that lad  :D

Depends on what era the 150pc set is from?  The current generation loses some useful spanner sizes over the previous generation.  The previous generation loses some useful deep socket sizes and some useful 3/8 torx bits (and some less useful 3/8 flat and Philips bits) in preference for a cheap, nasty 30pc screwdriver bit set over the first generation.

The 200pc duplicates a fair few socket sizes, so you ave, for example, a 19mm socket in both 3/8 and 1/2 drive.

Did I mention, though, the 200pc is bloody heavy!

Lidl and Aldi have a set in from time to time.
I've had a set for a few years with no problems

Thanks, I have a set similar to those, but not comprehensive enough. :y
