Hmmmm....just mentioned that it was like watching two teams run up and down the field like wot schoolboys do....as was last nights game.
The inferior teams from both games will be playing on Sunday, neither with much hope of winning anything this season......that's all. :y

What percentage of players in the premier are English?


When I was a lad the old first division was about 99% English.

We are rubbish any football Dr. Sadly. Although some say that's because of foreign players.

I'm not so sure. I think the forign players are here mainly because there aren't enough good English players. English players being cheaper initially I would of thought?

Man City have just spent a fortune on a training centre for youngsters, to be fair to them.

Ten or twenty years from now the English national team team will be made entirely of players from the lower divisions.

In 2025 Captain Steve Pratt of Mansfield Town will lead England out against the might of ze germans. :)

Quite possibly. My thinking is that England mainly did as well as they did over the last 20years following Fergys fledglings and the youth scheme at Utd.

But then I am biased. And there have been some great players from other teams including Gerrard etc.

My point is those youth schemes seems very quiet these days. Although they would be going well to replicate the number of first team players that UTD did for example. That was an exception to the rule I think.
