I suspect dispack failure causing misfire. Screws are Torx E10. There is not room between head and dispack for my standard socket. 8mm socket not holding. I guess I need a deep E10 socket. Is there any other way?

Pretty sure I used a 1/4" drive 8mm socket on a long-ish extension

Once loosened i found a strong telescopic magnet is ideal for lifting the screws/bolts out , it even turns them the last few threads so you dont drop them . Best bit of kit i ever bought  :) Swivel joint helps on an extension for undoing .

Long time since I did one, but is it not a case of undoing three, twisting the dis pac, which then gives room to access/loosens the fourth...? Or am I thinking of sumat else....? :-\

Deep socket not needed as far as the depth of the bolt head is concerened.

Deep socket not needed as far as the depth of the bolt head is concerened.
Not needed for traditional reasons, as its just a torx bolt, but being longer, it acts as a short extension. IIRC, anyway. If that makes sense.

To the OP, I found one of the most useful "tools" for dispack removal is a "tunnie"....

Haha love that photo. Del Boy n rodders  ;D

I find it so much easier to remove plenum then remove inlets. . . You can then get a hand in round the corner of the head. Quite a bit if room.

Having failed to remove the inside screws with my E10 torx socket and my 8mm deep socket, I popped into Machine Mart and bought a set of deep Torx sockets, 3/8" drive. While there, I prowled around buying odd items for my kids to give me for Christmas, rather than have them buy me junk. One item I picked off the shelves was an 8 piece  set of deep multifit metric sockets 1/4" drive. Label claims it will fit square, double hex, spline, torx and hex heads. bold claim I thought.

Got home, attacked the DISpack screws with my deep torx sockets, no success. Sockets were not deep enough, and the 3/8" heads fouled a plate on the cylinder head. In desperation I opened the above fit-everything pack, found the right socket, and tried it. It worked! Secret was its 1/4" drive, therefore slim.

For £8.39 it was money well spent. Catalogue number 040215225. Might be worth adding to your present lists.
