2 out of the last 3 omegas ive had I have lowered. Is there  anything different with a 2003 elite suspension wise that may give me trouble.

I was sort of taking that as a given  I should never assume! 

Self levellers can't take the drop of lowering springs (like Eibach -30mm) so will bottom out going full travel.

Having done it to one of mine, I wouldn't drop the rear by 30mm. 20mm max.  30mm is just too inconvenient.

....just make sure you have one thats -15mm for everyday use

The shocks will bottom out. best to pop some B4's on, cheaper and better than VX's LSC ones IMHO.

Can recommend B4s... well, I will when they're here, anyway  . Ordered them from Balance Motorsport, they're winging their way over from Germany as we speak.

The only reason for lowering is to take the wallow out. The self levellers are matches to the SL spring, and are not stiff enough, IMHO, to work with a stiffer spring.

Set of saloon plod springs here if you wish to test that theory...

Sl will work* with any rear springs.


*some peoples definition of working is very differant. They are very good at maintaining the correct ride height for load control.... ....but that where the good news ends sadly.


If you want quality damping, bin them and accept limited load capacity. If you want to carry stuff about, keep them and never let them go, but accept a lack of Independant damping side to side at the rear.

Ride height can be fiddled to match lowered springs. Although mine seemed to self adjust to lowered sports chassis springs. Yes. Odd I know. But there we are.

My post above assumes ride height not lower than -20mm. 5mm less than lsc mv6. Sl will work with mv6 lsc at -15mm and not bottom out.

But as you say, they almost certainly will at -30mm. (No personal experience, but I wouldn't)
