biting point very high
« on: 17 December 2014, 08:09:32 »

Hello  ;D

The biting point in the omega is very high near the top and it becomes difficult to set off smoothly as I have little travel. Its a bit like on/off between having clutch and no clutch. It still works but it is causing me concern. It feels lighter than it used to be.

Clutch was changed a few months ago I think, not sure what was done. No clutch slipping.

Should I be worried

Thankssss

Could be air in the system,if its not that, seems like clutch wasnt changed properly.

If it was air I would expect the clutch to be lower (as you have to press the pedal further to compress the trapped air).

On my ex-police 3.2 manual the clutch biting point was very high, I could never understand why. Eventually it began to slip, so I changed the friction plate, pressure plate, and nothing else. Since then it has behaved normally, engaging in the first 3 or 4 inches. like all my other Omegas. I cannot explain it, I merely report it.
