Isn't Doctor Who great
« on: 28 June 2008, 23:58:58 »

Doctor who keeps getting better and better, the story lines are far superior to what I remember as a girl.

Looks like the Doctor might be changing in the next episode, but I'd like to think that David Tennant will be around a little longer as I think he makes a great Dr Who

i like Dr who currently but i have to say Christopher Eccleston was a better Dr. He was more meanacing and he had the right attitude.

will be interesting to see who takes over, i heard that there will be no Dr Who in '09 due to cast commitments elsewhere

Not a programme I have followed for some years but I do know that a lot of folks are enjoying the current series.

Kinda giving my age away if I say that I think Patrick Troughton (and the Brigadier) were the chaps for me when I was a yoof!!

I am juedu2's SWMBO (as if pfft!).  Excuse me using his username but once he told me there was mention of Dr Who on here I was kindof, 'Let me get at the keyboard' lol.  Love Dr Who and its the one TV programme I do force poor Jue to sit thru (now u know why he haunts this forum at that time on Saturdays).

Still it makes up for all the eps of Overhaulin (yuk) and F1 he makes me sit thru he he!

Totally agree about Chris Eccleston, he was sooooooo brill as Dr Who altho David Tennant is pretty good too.  This series is really good altho I love the finale episodes and the one with the Devil in it was good (don't think u'd have seen that in Dr Who in the 70's etc).  Sometimes they're back to the almost clunky children's eps style of the John Nathan-Turner region.., but there are some very very good one's in there that would keep most adults sitting on the edge of their seat lol (except for Jue cause he's usually on here :P)

Do wish they'd stop showing all those Capt Jack man kisses tho lol.., (don't tell Jue), he's quite a hunk and it took me days to recover after the first one he he!

I agree with you Dusty, the new Dr Who is great, and David Tennent is great as the Dr.

Used to love the old series as well, Jon Pertwee and the crazed Tom Baker were my favourites, but the story lines were more childish in those days, whereas today its more of a programme for adults.

Theres some nice totty in it too, excluding Catherine Tate.

I like it but last nights was too messy and confusing and I think it was RTD having what can be called a fanw**k

Best episode of Doctor Who ever I have seen (Pertwee to now) was Blink

Yeah that was another edge of the seat one lol.  Quite liked the change in that David Tennant and Martha weren't the main characters.., one thing RTD has brought to the series is a willingness to be a bit experimental regarding the show format.  Love the way he has threads he has brought together thru the series too.

Didn't find this one confusing., don't know, maybe its cause I watch all the Dr Who offshoots as well, including the Sarah Jane series (altho it has to be said, that was a bit more for younger viewrs lol.., oh dear how sad am I lol)

I think the 2010 series will be better - new show runner and chief writer!
