I thought they all had HID headlights, is that not the case any more?

Not any more, within TVP RPU none have Xenon's. So no V70's, Shogun's, Insignia's. I think one of the XC70 does. In your force, they don't either. It used to be a good way to spot them at night!

They've got to be ok for oncoming traffic as well. When I'm driving down an unlit country lane (which is every day) I can't see a thing when someone approaches with these bleedin LED's. Takes my eyes a few seconds to adjust afterwards too.

I think this is where I embarrass myself and show my ignorance: what are HID headlights, and how do I know if I have them on my '51 Reg. 2.6 V6 petrol saloon, please?

High intensity discharge Ron. Much brighter than normal bulbs.

Thanks, STMO.
Will it be obvious if I have them or not? I've not had to change any front bulbs in the 6 years of my ownership of the car.

I did  ;D When I went to pick up a part for Entwood last week.....

Used the service road between east and west services on the m4....it had a no entry sign, then stated authorised vehicles only...

I explained to the extremely nice officer I had a pickup on the other side...and being a taxi I thought I would be an authorised vehicle....so after a breath test....full vehicle check....he allowed me to carry on .... saying he wouldn't turn me back as its a long way to go to the next exit and come back  :y

If you can alter the height of the light manually then you don't have them  ;)

They slightly flicker when they first come on....and if standard fit you will self levelling suspension  ;)
Not on the F/L CDX ;)
