Poor Reception.
« on: 05 January 2015, 17:00:13 »

Hi would like to ask is there anything more that i can do to receive a good reception on digital car stereo. The stereo  Sony was fitted when i bought the car about a year ago and had the usual windscreen mounted aerial. I have replaced this with a so say better one and yes it is slightly better but i still cannot get pure reception. Any ideas will be gratefully received thanks.

You want one of these, Hirschmann AUTA 16 V DAB.

Window mount antenna are at best rubbish, roof mounted un amplified passable in a strong signal area, roof mounted amplified the way to go.

Had one on the back of my estate and it was brilliant.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I have just aquired my first Omega and although I have a good radio reception, as soon as I put on the heated rear screen it goes completely. There is a stubby mounted aerial on the roof at the back, any ideas on what would be causing the interference?

Clean the inside of rear window, and check the electrical connections, and also the ground.

The radio aerial is in the heated rear screen, hence to interference  ;)

I have DAB and the reception is fine but with an external antenna, I replaced the external aerial stub on the roof with a DAB one, reception is very good and very rarely breaks up.
