Car paint
« on: 16 January 2015, 23:40:51 »

Hi all...

Can anyone name a decent supplier of car paint for spray gun spraying. The local ones in Wycombe have long gone that I dealt with. Looking for Base Coat and Lacquer (not cellulose) probably 1 litre tins. Plus thinners.
Obviously seen a few online, but would like recommendations for service and quality (and price) if possible.
Seems to be a variation on price around.
Do Halfords mix up tins or just aerosol. I ask because our local Halfords mixed me some Nocturno blue in aerosol, and I defy anybody to see any difference in the panels I have sprayed from the original. You cannot see where I have blended in to the original.
Any help appreciated :y

Pallette knife worked best on the old 2.5 .. you could "squeeze" the paint into the rust bubbles ...

Try these people...

http://www.lkqcoatings.com/index.html

Formerly JCA coatings, whom I have used for various cars over the years... so whilst I have no experience of the new company, it would be nice to think that the reputation of the old company is still worth summat :y

I always found these people excellent. Nu-Agane Car Paints. Bedford. 01234-355990. Bit of a step for you, but can order online.

Hi Tony,
guess you are probably sorted now  . .  but Bruv & me always use C.A.R.S (Canvey Auto Refinishing Supplies)

On Canvey Island .  Great discount prices & brill service , & I'm sure they post stuff.

IMO    . . . stay away from Halfords for this  . . . .  even if it's just for the cost  . . . bound to be quite expensive at Halfords
