Well? D'yer like it?

No offence, but I'll take the Maserati, thanks. ;D
Yes, but Opti is a few years older than you, Kevin.

Indeed, but he still claims to have his virility intact, although perhaps we should seek his sister-in-law's opinion on that.. should he ever muster the required energy. ::)

In my head I still feel like the young stud about town I always was.

Shall we say twenty five years old.

Dear old STMO on the other hand is simply 'past it'..... ;D

They do indeed.

My understanding is that the 4.5 litre version of the Rover / Buick lump is the best compromise. The 4 litre variant is probably a little sluggish. The full fat 5 litre lump is supposedly a real dog to drive in traffic.

Because TVR mapped their engines to pop and bang a lot rather than to run smoothly. ::)

I would expect the 5.0 lump to be far better given its a long stroke engine (all they do to go from a 3950 is increase the stroke and a very small bore increase if any bore change at all).

Is Lord Opti going to surprise us by spending a little loose change on one of these?

Now this could prove to be an excellent investment!  :y

With an advertised purchase price of £5500, hopefully £5000 would secure it, leaving £4500 - 5000 to complete the restoration and stay within budget.  :y  If Lord Opti gets a bit loose with the purse strings on the restoration he's in money pit territory (which fits the brief), but check out the prices of fully restored examples!  Your looking northwards of £15,000!  :o  8)

Obviously our Lord would have to check the condition very carefully, but if it's as described it could be a good buy!  :y
