Diesel....
« on: 30 June 2008, 16:05:38 »

My biggest problem in using this forum is that I have a 2.2 DTI engine. It seems this is the least common of all the engines in Omegas, and so trawling through countless pages of V6 and older diesel threads to find a useful bit of info can take hours.

The search function is almost useless in that it returns only 15 results, and a lot of people don't mention 2.2 diesel or DTi in posts so searching for diesel with 15 results only is not exactly a good idea.

Is there any way that there could be engine specific, or at least petrol and diesel engine forums, for specific questions about them.

Also, if anyone knows of a workshop guide to the DTi, like a Haynes, or a picture of what is where on this engine I would be much obliged. Currently looking for the starter motor and there is nowhere to turn!

Do a search on 2.2 DTI, but only high light the section you want to check.

There may be a way to do a more complicated search like you can on search engines but not sure if it works on the fourm

use google search on this URL .. this is the result ... go to google.co.uk  choose advanced search, type 2.2 dti in the search box and .. right down the bottom  www.omegaowners.com in the "search this domain" box ....

easy peasy  :)  1120 references .. :)

I knew there would be a simple way, never thought it would have been via google.

Also takes the stress off the server search mode I would have thought.

The built in search is a bit pants, google is better for posts older than about a month...
