TECH 2
« on: 31 January 2015, 14:10:06 »

I am sure this subject arises all the time, the Tech 2 unit used on the Omega B, where can I get one cheep, anybody.

Initial need is to turn off the airbag warning light I have had on for years, came on after I disconnected the drivers door airbag sensor, although Vauxhall told me to disconnect it again and reconnect - don't know if that's viable.

Would it also allow me to clear and or reset the codes in my Bose head unit

thanks for your input.

For the price it would cost you to buy one, you could drive over and see TheBoy and have it all done in an hour and at a fraction of the cost. PM him and ask, he does all my Tech2 work and is very good at it. :y

Wont make any difference, once the AB Light has been pinged, it will stay on until its been reset, ie, with a Tech 2, assuming the are no issues / faults with the system.

Hi appreciate the replys, I think he's too far away from me, I am near Watford, Herts.

Just read another post from a guest saying that you do not need a Tech 2 to turn the Airbag warning light off? - any details?

If all else fails I saw the message about the meeting at Hazelmere on May the 5th, could wait till then, I presume someone would be there, see if I can escape the missus on a bank holiday.

For a genuine Bosch/Vetronix Tech2, expect to pay around £3.5k new, or about £1k second hand.

For a Chinese clone, expect to pay around £400-£500. There are a lot of scare stories around these, although I have no personal experience, so it could just be Bosch propaganda.

Both of the above need a subscription in order to be able to do any reconfiguration tasks on the cars.

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
