I was with the RAC for a couple of years some time ago and called them out twice.  The first I waited about 3 hours for them to turn up and the second time they phoned back and said they'd be about 4 hours.  :o  I told them not to bother.  >:(

I've been with Rescuemycar.com for a few years now and it's terrific value if you don't call them out as they have low premiums, but you pay an excess everytime you call them.  So call them out more than once and it's not such a good deal, however I can't fault their service as I've had someone with me within about an hour each time!  :y

They can't open deadlocked Omegas with the keys in the boot though.  ::)  ;D

Ah that helps a lot.. of course you reminded me that mine is due and I should shop around; when I checked it renews tomorrow so I've left it a bit late now!  :(

£360 with Admiral on renewal or I could have got it for £210 with LV.. better phone Admiral tomorrow and see if it's too late!

Of all the breakdown providers I have ever used, RAC were the absolute worst.
I too have had issues with RAC, but could be as it was part of a large account, maybe we got poor service. 6 hours for them to come and fix a puncture. I remember it was a bloody cold evening :(

I.....I mean we.... become a member of the RAC.

Joint membership with any number of cars. £80.

The policy is called 'Roadside with nationwide recovery'

The AA refused to compete so boll*cks to them.
That's about what I pay the AA for the same.  Its coming around to that time of year again, so we'll see what they say :)

My bank supplied Aa cover includes everything except accident recovery... Home start is handy to have just in case... But quite expensive if you have to pay for it directly :-\

Its quite expensive when you consider the monthly bank charges to!

The company I would advise against is Green Flag, to many little T&Cs that will leave you stuck......as happened to me sadly!

Joined the AA almost a year ago though Top Cash Back was supposed to get around £38 back never did though.

Probably go for which ever is cheapest this time round without cash back....

For info, you only get cash back if you pay as a single payment, not monthly :y

Typical, Bloody typical...  ;D

First time I've used a 'cash back website' and it goes tits up  ::)

"Hello TopCashbacker!
Thanks for lodging your missing cashback claim for AA UK Breakdown.

We're sorry that something seems to have gone wrong with your transaction, but our dedicated customer service team will try to resolve this through your claim.

As long as you've filled in all the required information, we'll be able to submit your claim to the merchant's network in our next batch.

In the meantime, if you'd like to add any further information to your claim or close it because you feel it is no longer needed, then you can do this from the Customer Care: Cashback Claims section of your account. (Please note that the network may decline your claim if any of the details on it are incorrect.)

We really hope that the merchant's network will take the decision to approve your missing cashback claim. It may take several months, but please be assured that we'll be in touch as soon as we have any news for you.
Thanks,"
