Personally I just use an app to check mine once a month or so and if needs be clear the codes..

If you have a android device (almost any will do) you could always try the various OBDII apps and a Bluetooth adapter.

You should be aware that many Omegas are not compliant with OBD code readers. Vauxhall coverage before 2001(when compliance become a requirement for petrol engines) is very spotty.
Tell us what engine is fitted to your car and we can advise further.

As already pointed out, my 2000 3.0 MV6 non OBD2 compliant= paper clip test, and the 3.2's are compliant, but really the readers have their limitations :-\ and there are better options available....depending on your budget of course :y  Not sure about dealing with your issues...but I'm sure there will be someone along to help. :y

Why should it upset the admin if you recommend a good product?

He's probably referring to a cheap clone of the reverse engineered Tech2. The originator of it is quite rightly unhappy about public mentions of the clone.
But, for the money, any Vauxhall owner who works on their car should consider. I used mine in the week to reset my  airbag light and to check that the temp sender on a mate's Astra is working.

Oh I see, copyright/patent infringement, that's different.

I thought what was meant was a Vgate or Bluetooth piece of kit that could not be mentioned.

Still not sure if any do my old donkey!! :'(

Ooh I do like a piece of tech!! :y

I've had complete success with the Autel range on all sorts of cars. However none of them work on the Omega.

If we all bothered with FAQs surely no one would hardly post.

That may well have been true then but those posts were posted 6 years ago, an absolute age in tech time lines.

Things have moved on somewhat since then and costs dropped considerably. Now we have Bluetooth devices etc that whilst may not reset everything/anything may read most of it to give a heads up on where to look first.
