To begin with a huge thank you to all of you that helped me sort this problem out before i did set light to the car,,,,,And Al you were right on the ball with your thinking.....and big time thanks for the picture,,,,it was the key and it had the chip missing as it turned out that it was never there in the first place....on your suggestion i got the spare key which the fob dosent work and put that in the ignition and sure enough it started.so very well done to you and all my respect..I am so amazed and so very gratefull to you all for your expert knowledge on the omega and the fact that you share with us all of that and free of charge as well....I owe you Al big time thank you......so the story is that on the day i was doing bits to the car and moving it about I came indoors and decided to change the batteries on both the fobs..I then picked the better fob that was not being used and that is when my trouble started and it did not dawn on me that i had done that,,because it was low on fuel when the guy delivered it i naturally thought that was the reason for it not starting....only tonight on Al suggestion did i use the spare key and the car started...then I phoned the guy who i bought the car from,,only to be told that the chip has been missing for years and because that was the better fob he used that one to unlock the door and the bad fob to start the car...instead of swapping the fobs over......now he tells me,,lol,,,,ok once again thank you all...well chuffed now....
