Tyre pressures first, then check for broken springs, then for worn out bushes and shocks...

Any particular wheel suffering?

Does it still drive/stop straight?

Front anti-rollbar droplinks.
They're cheap enough, and quick to fit so it's probably worth changing them just in case.
Al's list is then what you follow.

How long have you owned the car and has it always done that?

Is it just a noise? (Something loose in the car. Spare wheel is a common one. )

If the ride affected as well
....failed front or rear shocks? Allows the wheels to leave the ground over bumps and bang as they land.
It resonates through the car so difficult to tell which end the banging comes from, but if you carry the speed over a bump, slow enough to be able to differentiate between front and rear but fast enough to trigger the problem, you should be able to tell which axle.

If it's both ends, then that's a million to one shot beyond tyre pressures set wrong (have you just had new tyres fitted? Rarely they leave the pressure and bead popping levels) or common parts wrongly fitted at both ends. Or something loose on or in the car.

Lol, if it's your car Mick, then the front shocks are definitely a bit bouncy, and you already know about the rears...

Get the rears sorted, and we can have a good rummage over the rest of it :y

In that case, droplinks first as Nick says then a thorough inspection, and replace what's worn out, as per my list...
