Tablets - Windows v Android
« on: 07 April 2015, 10:01:23 »

Getting fed up of using TV for PC or TV viewing so starting to look into using a tablet as I find using a laptop a bit cumbersome.

Choices are a 12.2" Galaxy Note (Android)

Asus 10.2" Transformer Book

Questions are

Both can obviously access facebook, which I basicially use on a daily basis to buy and sel stuff and keep in touch with friends etc, I also like to play the face book games.  Am guesing that I might be able to play the likes of Farmville 2 on the Asus but does anyone know if the Android will play it.

I also do my banking daily which I am sure the windows will allow me log on as normal and via an App on the Android.

The Asus comes with Office 365 which I know noting about.  On my PC I use Office 2008 (I think (Excel)) and a wondering if there is a way to share spread sheets or use a method that auto updates a spread sheet between.

I know MS utilised someting on windows 2000 that could allow multiple users to share 1 Main spread sheet but cat remember what it was called, but if possible would like the Tablet and the PC to share and update the same spread sheet.

Android Tablet, lots of Apps, but can never replace a Windows Lappy in my book nearest your get is get running as a fast Chrome Book.

Windows Tablet, (assuming its a full blown win8.1 rather than a cut down RT or early Surface) will do pretty much what your Win Lappy will do, make sure its fully upgradable to Win10, if its a RT or some early flavor of Surface your be stuck with limited Apps.

Office 365 is just a newer version (with in the Cloud features) of your Office 2008, having said that dont expect all your Documents from 2008 to be fully compatable with 365, MS way of making us upgrade for things.

End of the day, its all about what you are expecting from it and what uses you need.

Seriously fancy getting the Android because of the screen size.

Can I use a wireless mouse and keyboard with these when on the face book forums and OOF etc?
