I agree, matey.
One question....I understand people send footage to the police about 'traffic violations' etc, taken by dash cams. Do the police act on these vids that get sent to them ???

Mmm. I got one for Xmas only to find you cannot use them in Spain. Not legal to record anyone unless you have their permission. Especially policemen. ;D

I would have thought a camera recording of an incident where someone else was at fault could only help your case in a court.

For most moving traffic offences, a normal S172 notice must be served on the registered keeper of the car within 14 days of the offence for a subsequent prosecution to be viable. So for the police to take action the video has to be submitted quickly, with details of date, time and location, and the investigating occifer must decide if an offence has been commited and then get the NIP/S172 in the post fairly smartish. AIUI basically only any use for Careless/Dangerous driving, and no use for speeding.

Haven't there been cases of bikers shooting themselves in the foot by posting videos of themselves doing silly mph?  :-\

I love the way caravans just burst in an accident!!  :D  ;D

On a serious note though you'd think that caravans would have to have some sort of minimum structural standards, those water containers bouncing down the road would be lethal!  ::)

I appreciate that it's only a little caravan but it looks as if the driver started to turn back in before even his car was past the lorry.  ::)

Funny you should say that as we looked at some caravans in Spain. 5 berth and total weight 700kg. Same thing in Britain is about double that!! I can't imagine what the Spanish caravans are made of.

I believe he went for the overtake on the wider part of the road before the filter but then saw the road island and tried to squeeze back in between the lorry and the island bollards. Moment of haste trashed his van......... and probably scratched the truck he was passing.  ::)
