Shame to see a man's life's work sold off
"sadly, owner John died in 2013 and now his family has decided it’s time to shut the museum and auction off his collection."
no idea of the politics, and surely the inhheritance of such a museum could feel more like a liability or a curse, especially if you're not car-mad yourself, however clearly the though process went something along the lines of
'we could carry on his legacy, as this museum is one-of-a-kind, and genuinely different to all the others in the country...hang on, is that old rusty Citroen, what's it? MS? SM?
HOW MUCH
Um... if we've got a hundred cars here, and each one's worth two grand thats... wait, how much for that Rolls-Royce?... about ten grand, and we've got
two.. What's a De Tomato? Don't know, but they're worth over ten grand easy.... bleedin' ell, what are we even talking about this for? Flog the lot!!"
I know I'm making some judgements and leaping to conclusions, and if I'm completely wrong, then fair enough, I'm literally 'theorising'. However, no matter if you want the collection or not, literally hundreds of thousands of pounds of assets being chucked your way in a will must make for some hard decisions.
I'll have the Bond Bug
