It should make a few people think twice about towing a caravan in that weather as well. Aye Terbs. ;)

(I'd pay. Wouldn't you? ;D)

Who said anything about the wind ;)

I should perhaps add that I have flown through a thunderstorm in this box of bolts...

If you told me back then that you would be able to fly from Gatwick to Guernsey in thirty minutes, I would have been obliged to laugh in your face.

That particular flight took well over two hours :o

You know what I meant ;D ;D
In educated English......
Irrespective of the video showing the crosswinds, as an aside, when they built the runway at Birmingham, why did they not make it flat, rather than hilly :y

Ok Al :y

Nothing like a stiff crosswind to sharpen your skills. :D At least you know the guys in the office up front will be awake! ::)

This opening the throttles and going around is a bit of a cop out, though. ;)

That's bravado talking Kevin....just because you can't do it in a glider. Possibly a hint of jealousy surfacing ;D ;D :y

Watching from the outside is a bit like watching a car or bike pressing on. Always feels far more controlled from the inside. :y :y :y

Carrier landing are always interesting to watch, where they are much more of a controlled crash, especially at night, in fog and rough weather and everyone is rated by the LSO that goes on the pilot's record. :o :o :o The F18 as a light fighter that lost the flyoff against the F16, gained serious weight and a beefed up undercarriage to make it suitable for carrier operations. ::) ::) ::)

Yeah, he could have walked away from that one with barely a limp*, I reckon. ;D

* - ok, maybe he'd be walking a little awkwardly if he got too scared. :-X
