Was the old oil cleared up? Could the oil be residue left from the old leak?

Or is it defo still leaking? If so anything trapped? Any damage to the plastic covers? Are they warped or distorted? (Presume would of been apparent on refitting) are the seals deco seated correctly? Was black goo used as the guide in the cam half moon corners? Correctly torqued to 8nm.

Sorry for the questions but they are relevant.

Also is the seal ok in the filler neck?

Ignoring what's on the sump for a minute, as almost all oil leaks seem to end up there.

Oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold, or the heat shields around them to be more precise, can only come from the cam cover area. Ime, leaks from the cam seals at the front run down the front of the engine between the block and the back of the rear cam belt guard. ....unless there's been a spillage from topping up the oil level, or the filler neck is not sealing. So might be worth removing the neck, and plugging the oil cap directly into the cam cover instead, just to eliminate one more thing.

Other than that, to my mind that only leaves a miss placed cam cover seal somewhere. ...I think....?

There is an omega meet in Wycombe on the 4th if it's not sorted by then.

See the meetings section. Although you'll probably get a pm from someone offering help.

I have replied to your PM, but if you have just replaced the covers as per the guide, it would be daft to replace them just because...

But happy to look at the meet to ensure that the breathers are clear and that the covers are fitted correctly, as there are a couple of points that could easily be mis fitted :y

Half moons not seated correctly ,or possibly the covers are warped due to being overtightened in a previuos life.Only option now is to remove, clean, thoroughly check and refit either using different covers if found not straight.

Gasket will be fine ,but may be wise getting new 0 rings just to be on the safe side.
