What's the bike and what's the problem?

Unusual for modern ones to "not quite run right". They usually do - or they completely don't.

do you know if it was standing for a while before you bought it ?the fuel can go manky and block jets,makes them run rough as guts. :-/

Yes it had been standing for quiet some time, and we did clean out the carbs, fitted a new Exup cable and it runs far far better now :y
But going to have the carbs checked to make sure they are right :y :y

you could get a set of guages and balance them yourself,rather than pay someone to do it.mine need doing at the moment but i have a mate with the gauges so i will be going to see him very soon.
