« on: 08 May 2015, 16:05:26 »

The connection that holds the fly by wire into the housing has fallen to bits so im holding it in with some wire wrapped around it  :( Has this wire got a loom plug on so i can replace it or is there a repair piece for the end thats fell to bits  :-\

If your talking about the plug that plugs into the side of the throttle body, then I believe no.

When the plastic cage that surrounds the plug itself on mine fell apart, I just pushed it all the way in and stuck a blob of silicon on it to stop it working its way out  :y
Mines been done that way for over 2 years now with no problem  :)

Just a bit of a pain when it comes to taking off the plenum but hopefully after all the work being done it wont be coming off for a while  :-X

Cable tie seems the normal fix. Or even two. Top and bottom either side of the loom.

No need to disturb throttle body when pulling plenum... Simply remove the intake corners and four bolts and leave the Throttle body in position... Saves stressing the coolant hoses to it as well :y

Think most are held in with tape/cable ties or similar.

Mine fell apart too and has been held in with cable ties for past year with no issues, although I dd manage to get a peice of loom with an undamaged plug on it and was going to cut and resolder back together, but as it hasnt caused any issues will continue as it is.

Cable ties and gaffer tape are like the force. They hold the universe together. :y

...along with lock wire and thread lock, twigs and bailing twine.... Wattle and daub etc

I found cable ties difficult so as said I used carpet tape.

[unheplfull arse mode on] well as your flying by wire instead of driving by wire that's perhaps unsurprising ;D  [off]

The plug is about the size of a scart socket, so has room either side of the 10mm or so wide loom to cable tie onto. Can't supply a pic as mine hasn't broken. ....yet. :)
