2004 Skoda Fabia 1.2 central locking oddity
« on: 12 May 2015, 19:12:07 »

Hi guys,

So, talking to a mate today. he says his car (the above) has a plain key (i.e. no buttons) and when he turns it in the drivers side it locks all 4 doors.

he then one day decided to do the same but in the passenger side....once he did this he says when he tried to lock thedoors again on the drivers side he has no central locking and he now has to lock each individual door  ???

he took it to the garage and they said this car doesn't have central locking. lol

any ideas?

There was a few "makeshift" skoda central locking type kits knocked up which dont show on the reg epc.

theres a couple of screws which attach to the button rod which if not set correctly , play up.

if it has central locking proper, all the mech is in the door catch, which can play up but visable on vsds diagnostic.
