Skoda superb, ugly rear view
« on: 23 May 2015, 15:15:46 »

Saw this at the park today. The back end looks like something from soviet era Yugoslavia:

That looks like a 170bhp 2.0 to me....

But the front end will have those lurvely led day driving lights on it  ::)

I personally think the shooting brakes look better from the rear  :y

Yes there's been nothing that ugly on the roads since the days of British Leyland. Absolutely hideous design. :(

Mine is the newer version with the saloon / hatchback boot depending on how you open it. I think the mkIII is a lot better looking than the previous one.

Not a fan of the hatchback Superb, Estate looks nice though in that year.

That pic is also the Mk 2 with the same shiity two piece boot lid/tailgate boot space robbing combo...

Dark blue is about the least inspiring colour for that car... Only beige could be worse :-X

Yours is the facelift Mk 2... The Mk 3 is back to being a traditional saloon/estate choice :y

Yes they seem to have totally lost the plot when they got to the rear end.Saloon/hatch design bit seemed to me to be building something in for the sake of it and a complete waste of time.

There have been much uglier cars since BL. Mk1 Focus for a start. Or any of the BMW Minis.

Not forgetting the Ssang Yong Rodius. And anyone who has seen one cannot forget it.

STMO throws a flanker, what is wrong with that in the superior, go faster, black compared to say (thinks for a millisecond), an asthmatic 1.4 Astra in snot/puke green. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

What about green? Not as impressive or eye catching as the esteemed member's Astra, but still....

I think that year Superb estate is one of the best looking "normal" cars on the road - hugely spec dependent though. I'd have a purple 3.6, if they came with a proper gearbox.
