Cold in July.
« on: 23 May 2015, 17:42:08 »

There's a particular scene in this film I found extremely disturbing. It's an image that isn't shown but leaves little to the imagination. Batting practice sums it up without ruining the film.

I don't consider myself easily shocked, but this was way out there.

Or.... I'm getting old and soft these days. Anyone else seen it? Currently on sky as it happens.

Not seen it, worth a watch?

I've just sat through The Theory of Everything tonight. I seem to be getting into these critically acclaimed based on true events films over the past 2 or 3 years.  Not a single explosion or cheesy one-liner in sight ;D

I really don't know tbh. Without being fecesious, Maybe have a look see what you think of it. ;D

The basic plot is possibly a bit thin, and without said scene it would leave you thinking the half finished story make a bad film. But with the the scene in, it becomes a pure revenge film where your quite happy for the later murders to take place.

The violence "implied" by the video in the film is..... Well. See what you think. The response to it by the characters in the film then becomes quite natural. In a very unnatural way.

But please note, I am not recommending it to anyone. If that's not a recommendation in itself ;D

I've just rented 'The drop' from Sky store. Quite quirky. I thought I was a bit bored and it wasn't very good. Then I realised I hadn't taken my eyes off it for an hour and a half and it was nearly finished.  ;D
