NCDC 2013 CDC which board do i transfer over
« on: 25 May 2015, 20:46:42 »

Bought a spare NCDC 2013 recently and have stripped it down and i recall something about needing to transfer the old board over to the replacement not have the (CDC Safe mode message) not sure which one though, Think it was one of the upright ones possibly the one the plug slots into?

This appears to have answered my own question...

The only part of the CDC that is coded is the vertical board - If swapping over the CDC bottom half, make sure to keep the original vertical board with the right head unit

correct, assuming you want to use just the CDC3 section from the donor unit?

Thanks for that  :y

Yes my CDC isn't reading any discs, Have tried 2 other cartrages with the same outcome. Rather than messing about with the laser I'm going to replace the whole CDC section on my NCDC 2013 unit but transfer the upright board an hope for the best.

I believe it's the Sat-Nav disc slot laser is the harder one to fix, Mine still sort of works once the car warms up it works 85% of the time. So will leave that alone for now.

Yes, that'll be fine, just swap over vertical board (remove spring that side, 1 torx bolt, lift out whilst forcing CDC mech over a bit - fiddly, and with a knack, but takes me seconds).

Next satnav laser I have to do, I'm going to see if I can use a special, unique tool, often called a tunnie ;D

All done, For the first time in 2 years it's working again  :)

Was rather straight forward took 15 minutes all in, However I did lose one of those tiny screws you put in the radio once back on the car... Can't be far though.
