What brought that on?

Personally, I have never really had a head for heights, no issues with flying, but never been good with ladders and the like... so was quite apprehensive about crossing the Gatwick bridge day in day out. In reality though, the view is spectacular and even looking down from it isn't as unnerving as it should be...

Anyhow, as Chris says, rest up,  and hopefully you'll be back on your feet in no time :y

What brought that on?

Quote
Causes of vertigo may include:
benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) – where certain head movements trigger vertigo
migraines – severe headaches
labyrinthitis – an inner ear infection
vestibular neuronitis – inflammation of the vestibular nerve, which runs into the inner ear and sends messages to the brain that help to control balance

Its not to do with heights, as such, Al. I suffered vertigo once years back, and I was on the ground. I believe its to do with the inner ear or something. I could not keep my balance. Its similar to being ratted, and not a nice experience. Luckily, I have been ok since. So my commiserations to you, Seth. Hope you feel better soon. :y

Was holed up in Wetherspoon hotel in Ripon a couple of years ago with that. Not nice at all. I swear that Ripon Cathedral turned upside down once, couldn,t hardly get off the bed to go to the bog. Best of luck with it and what tabs are you on?
I was prescribed Bucestem, did the trick in about three days then i ran for home in my old faithful PFL.

Mrs TB and one of my Bros suffer vertigo. Its a problem with balance usually due to some inner ear damage.

In the case of bro, it was caused in an aeroplane, possibly due to minor cold or allergy causing a problem with pressure balance. Strangely, he is most affected after getting off a flight.

Mrs TB was due to a viral infection, and her vision is like a constant shaking, as the microscopic hairs in the canals in her inner ears have hardened.  Driving in snow or heavy rain disorients her to the point of illness.

I suffer a fear of heights. I know when I'm in trouble as I get a tingle in the gentleman sack area. But that's just gay, not the shit those with ear damage have to endure.

Sorry Seth, but in most cases you don't get over it, your brain learns to live with it, ignoring the signals.  Until other senses confuddle the brain.

Sorry that looked a bit dismissive. Get well soon Seth. Must be an unplesent sensation, I get something approaching similar with neck and spine issues. Believe it or not. Although not as bad, so you have my sympathy.
